INFRASTRUCTURE SPECIALIST

Position Overview

Reporting To: I. T. Manager

This new position will work closely with the IT Manager and help direct a group of DevOps programmers.   The focus of this is position is on project management, system maintenance and the development of statistical reports. Our focus is on automation and the creation of web based self-service tools for use by our clients.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • 3 – 5 years managing Linux servers
  • Ability to build and configure servers from the ground up, both Linux & Windows
  • Experience developing and implementing information solutions using SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports and Universe, in a predominantly Oracle & MySql environment
  • Strong level of technical experience with BI and data warehouse systems
  • Evaluate, design, install, configure and support AMF’s server infrastructure
  • Manage, automate, monitor and secure IT solutions
  • Initiate, plan and implement projects across all business units
  • Respond to IT service requests from users

Specific Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of PHP, HTML/XHTML and CSS
  • Proficient with BASH, CRON, SAMBA)
  • Advanced skills in SQL language and Oracle experience
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Understanding of development tools like MySQL workbench, TOAD, SQL Developer

DEVOPS PROGRAMMER

Position Overview

Reporting To: I. T. Manager

Our company looking to automate core functionality of the business. The developer will work closely with the others in the IT team to identify, quantify and develop applications to improve the underwriting process and user experiences. You enjoy working in a dynamic, virtualized environment.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Creates and modifies moderately complex business intelligence processes from specifications
  • Codes, tests & debugs both original and legacy applications
  • Makes changes to legacy programs as required generally from specifications but also in response to anticipated changes
  • Able to function in a mixed computing environment (Linux, Windows)
  • Gather user requirements, create project plans
  • Create system and user documentation
  • Manage development infrastructure

Specific Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: (3+ Years)

  • Highly Proficient in PHP
  • Proficient in LINUX (Python/BASH scripting/CRON)
  • 3 years minimum experience with HTML/XHTML and CSS
  • Hands-on experience using frameworks like Laravel, Zend, Symfony, etc.

COMMERCIAL LINES UNDERWRITER

Position Overview

Reporting To: Commercial Lines Director

Position Overview: The Intermediate Commercial Lines Underwriter is a highly motivated, team oriented individual who will contribute to a profitable book of business through sound underwriting decisions.

You will be responsible for ensuring delivery of a high level of customer service to our Canada-wide broker network. You will have the ability to work independently, make critical underwriting decisions, find solutions to problems and be responsible for managing the service, profitability and growth of your portfolio. This will be accomplished through the implementation and maintenance of operational and underwriting discipline, guidelines, and the monitoring of underwriting and service execution.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Underwriting new business, renewals and endorsements according to AMFUM underwriting guidelines & authority limits
  • Search for solutions to problems
  • Seek approval/assistance as required
  • Processing all assigned work promptly and accurately, as per AMFUM Guidelines
  • Working effectively within the AMFUM team dynamic.
  • Maintain knowledge of company and industry Underwriting policies, procedures and standards.
  • Respond to broker requests and inquiries on a timely basis, as per AMFUM Guidelines
  • Managing relationships with brokers
  • Other miscellaneous duties as required

Specific Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 5+ Years Commercial Underwriting Experience, with emphasis on mid-size manufacturing/retail/wholesale risks and mid-size construction risks
  • University Degree
  • CIP Designation
  • Thorough knowledge of policy wordings and limitations
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in risk selection
  • Evaluate future loss potential
  • Strong decision making skills and ability to bring creativity to underwriting risks
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with peers, clients, and industry personnel
  • A strong work ethic, good organizational skills and the ability to work within a team environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to explain results of your work to others in the industry

E&O UNDERWRITER

Reporting To: Commercial Lines Director

Position Overview: The E&O Underwriter is a highly motivated, team oriented individual who will contribute to a profitable book of business through sound underwriting decisions. In addition you will share your expertise and technical knowledge within the organization.

You will be responsible for ensuring delivery of a high level of customer service and working closely with others to ensure underwriting integrity. You will have the ability to work independently, make critical underwriting decisions, find solutions to problems and be responsible for managing the service, profitability and growth of your portfolio. This will be accomplished through the implementation and maintenance of operational and underwriting discipline, guidelines, and the monitoring of underwriting and service execution.

Role & Responsibilities:
